Expedited and Same Day Service
Expedited and same-day services are available through the Secretary of State.
- Expedited service: $100 per business entity, generally processed within three working days.
- To expedite by mail, include an additional $100 per business entity and label the outside of the envelope "EXPEDITE".
- Same-day service: This service charges a "same-day" fee of $150 per business entity. For Front Counter cutoff times, visit our Contact Us page.
We accept cash, checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. All payments must be in USD and are non-refundable (WAC 434-112-075 & WAC 434-112-085).

- Name Reservation

Purpose: Name Reservations may be used by any business entity to reserve a business name prior to registering with the Secretary of State and receiving the Unified Business Identifier (UBI) Number. Per RCW 23.95.310, a name reservation shall reserve the name for the applicant's exclusive use for 180 days. After this period the name reservation will expire and cannot be renewed.

This section covers the filing types that facilitate the maintenance of update-to-date information for a business on record. These filings include Annual Report, Amended Annual report, Initial Report & Statement of Correction. Changes made to a business’s record through a Secretary of State filing does not update other state agency records. Purpose: An Annual Report is used to affirm or update business entity information recorded by the Secretary of State and must be filed yearly to maintain a business' active status. An Annual Report is due by the business entity’s expiration date, which is the last day of the month in which the business was first formed/registered with the Secretary of State; and can be filed up to 180 days before the expiration date.

- Amended Annual Report - All Entity Types

Purpose: An Amended Annual Report may be used by any Domestic (WA) or foreign business entity to update the principal office, governors, or the most recently recorded controlling interest questions of a business or nonprofit. This form can also be used by a nonprofit corporation, nonprofit miscellaneous and mutual corporation, or a limited liability partnership to initially list the principal office and governors if needed prior to filing its first annual report.
Submission of this form does not advance the business’ expiration date and cannot replace the required annual report.

Purpose: A Commercial Termination Statement may be used to terminate the registration of a recorded commercial registered agent and resign as the registered agent for all represented business entities.
