OLYMPIA – Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs issued the following statement on the passing of State Senator Bill Ramos:
“We mourn the sudden passing of Washington Senator Bill Ramos. He was a fierce champion of election security and access, and we worked closely with Bill in his years in the State House of Representatives and in his most recent election to the State Senate.
The people of the 5th Legislative District were well represented by Bill in the State Legislature, and his love of the outdoors was key when he worked with the U.S. Forest Service in North Bend and as a federal tribal liaison, where he worked to improve public transit for 56 tribes in the Pacific Northwest.
His leadership, compassion, and desire to serve will be greatly missed in Olympia, and we send our condolences to his wife and his family.”
