Statewide Database Trials: Hard Times Resources
I'm pleased to announce that the Statewide Database Trials for May-June 2009 are now up and available. Apologies to those who were waiting with bated breath on May 11; more products this time around meant more time spent getting everything up and organized.Update on Broadband Stimulus Funding

Orcas Island Shows Its Heritage
Washington Rural Heritage is pleased to announce our fourth San Juan Island collection: Orcas Island Heritage.
It is a drive by day... a drive by work day
Friday and the Sun has returned and is burning off the fog of the morning. I ride my Trusty Triumph to work, thinking this is the perfect day to just keep on riding, don't stop, don't park, don't go to work. A perfect drive by work day. I know there are Over Dues to do, that I have a new library clerk to train, that supplies from DOC only come today, that this is the day the crew cleans the floor, that ILL requests must be typed up and recorded, and I know that two of the crew will be having visits and we will be short staff for patron needs.

Self-Help Books
Recently I was channel surfing at home and came across the station that broadcasts out of Olympia, Wa. There was a hearing in progress with the Washington State Clemency and Pardons Board. The inmate seeking a pardon was on the phone from Washington Correction Center for Women and everyone else was in the same room. I know the inmate and was both surprised and pleased when I heard her list all of the things she had done to prepare herself for this moment. One of the things that she said was...." I have read every self-help book in the WCCW Library".

After some serious consideration, the Public Services staff has come to the decision that it is time to put an official end our blog. Unfortunately we just don’t have time to update it any longer, and we hate to have old and outdated posts out there cluttering up our website and confusing our patrons.
