Introducing Library Giving Day

Libraries are all about sharing. Public libraries are based on the idea that one book can be shared with many. This simple notion forms the foundation of a public library’s mission and goals. Modern libraries offer much more than books, but the idea of equal access for all has never changed.

In Washington state, we have a strong library system, but not every community has the time or expertise to tackle fundraising.

Remote Braille Proofreading Succeeds at WTBBL

The Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (WTBBL) Braille Production Department has been increasingly busy in the past several months with new local books being transcribed, proofread, and made available to library patrons. A big part of this is due to WTBBL's stellar volunteers, who are flexible and willing to explore new ways to improve the braille production process.

In fall 2018, WTBBL launched a pilot program to test the feasibility of having volunteer teams perform offsite proofreading.

Braille Challenge competitions coming to Seattle and Spokane
