Library News The Selah Public Library, a part of the Yakima Valley Regional Library system, is moving.across the street. For the last 42 years, residents of Selah have turned many pages in the building the library shares with City Hall. Now they'll have a larger place; part of an agreement designed to help both the library and the city. Washington State Library News The Washington State Library recently contributed another 23,000 historic newspaper pages from seven newspapers to "Chronicling America," making Washington State's contribution to the program a total of 23 papers and over 115,000 pages.

Library News The Quincy Valley Balloon and Wine Festival is back for a third year, bigger and better than ever at Parties on the Green. Tickets to the Saturday evening event are $20 for a car load up to 6 people. A portion of the proceeds will go to the new Quincy Library, a part of North Central Regional Library System, project. (Quincy Valley Post Register, 9.2.10) The Camas Public Library is looking for kids age 13 to 17 to join its Youth Advisory Council. Council members plan library programs, discuss book orders, and earn volunteer hours doing special projects.

Library News Two Ritzville Public Library board members and the library's director have volunteered to serve on a subcommittee that will begin a fact-finding endeavor with the Ritzville Public Development Authority (RPDA) in determining if the Ritzville Business Center would be suitable as a site for some library functions. (Ritzville-Adams County Journal, 9.2.10) This summer families in Stevens County can pick up themed book bags designed for children 2-5 years old. The book bags can be requested and checked out for free just by showing a library card.

Library News All county residents should have received a guide to Columbia County Rural Library District services. Attached to that guide was a self-addressed, stamped perforated survey card. If you have not already done so, please take a moment to answer three questions and give us your comments about our library and our services to you.
