when Sonora Smart Dodd, from Spokane, Washington attended church and heard about a holiday honoring mothers. She thought fatherhood should be honored as well and have their own special day too.

It wasn't until 1966 when President Lyndon Johnson made it official, proclaiming the third Sunday in June as Father's Day.

Today, Father's Day is celebrated world wide in at least 55 countries on the third Sunday of June.

To fathers everywhere....Happy Father's Day!
