Archives and campaign pieces: Joel Pritchard
As we get closer to wrapping up another campaign season, here’s another look at a campaign piece of a past Washington political leader: Joel Pritchard. The affable Seattle Republican served in the state House of Representatives from 1959 to 1967 and in the state Senate from 1967 to 1971. Pritchard later represented the 1st Congressional District in D.C. from 1973 to 1985.

Election Day has come and gone, meaning yard signs will disappear soon, and no more TV ads or campaign pieces in the mail. For those of you who haven’t seen enough campaign lit, here is one for former U.S. Senator Warren Magnuson. Called “Maggie” by his constituents, Democrat Magnuson was elected to the U.S. House in 1936 and served eight years there before being elected in 1944 to the U.S.

For Election Eve, we’re spotlighting an old campaign piece from Republican Slade Gorton, who was Washington State’s Attorney General from 1969 until 1981, when he began serving the first of two stints in the U.S.
