The Bigelow Family Mementos is a collection that documents one of Olympia’s oldest and influential families. The centerpiece of this collection is Daniel R. Bigelow’s manuscript diary written between 1848 and 1854. In it, he describes his activities as a law student in Boston, his journey westward, and his work as a legislator. He married Ann Elizabeth White in 1854. This resource also includes transcriptions by Roger Easton. Pages from the family Bible and family photographs add rich detail to the collection.
