Using Your Substitute Address

The ACP provides you with a legal substitute address and mail-forwarding services. You use the substitute address with state and local agencies on new or when updating public records. You may also use the substitute address for personal use such as correspondence with friends and family. Mail is sent to the substitute address and received by  ACP staff. Staff then forwards your mail to your mailing address on file.

Addressing Mail

The following mail format is recommended for timely and accurate forwarding of mail:

Participant Name

PO Box 257 PMB #####

Olympia, WA 98507-0257

**If an agency has fillable address regions with an irregular format, list the PMB # in the same field as the full name - full name, PMB #####, and PO Box 257.**

Can I receive packages through the ACP?

No. Anything with dimensions larger than 12 inches wide, 15 inches long, ¾ inches thick, or over 13 ounces in weight is defined as a package.

Packages are refused at the Post Office and returned to the sender. As a participant, you do not have permission to pick up items from the Olympia Post Office because it is leased by the Secretary of State's Office.
