Washington Remembers Writing Contest Winners - Legacy Washington

Legacy Washington sponsored an essay/letter writing contest for 8-11th grade students from September – December 2015. Washington State students were encouraged to participate in this special opportunity to enhance the Washington Remembers WWII project, a multifaceted tribute to veterans of one of the most violent conflicts in history.

Students were asked to either write a letter to a veteran (living or deceased) or an essay describing what World War Two means to them. Judges have selected the following essays to receive a special recognition certificate and a $100 gift card from our sponsors, Fred Meyer at an awards ceremony on February 2nd. Thank you to all the students who participated in this contest!
