The Point Elliot Treaty signed

The Point Elliot treaty negotiations took place near present-day Mukilteo. It established reservations and fishing and hunting rights for the Duwamish, Suquamish and allied tribes. Among the eighty-two Indian signers was "Seattle, chief of the Duwamish and Suquamish tribes." The U.S. Senate ratified the treaty on April 18, 1859.
