Due to the ongoing fight to reduce the impacts of COVID-19, the Corporations and Charities Division office has some in-person and curbside services available if you are not able to complete your filing online. Phone and processing hours will be temporarily reduced to 8am-5pm Monday through Thursday. No work will be performed on Fridays until after August 7, or further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Want to Renew Your Charities Registration Early?
The Secretary of State’s Office notifies registered Charities by regular mail and email 45-60 days before the expiration date of their current registration with the Charities Program. However, a Charitable Organization may renew its registration at any time after the close of the organization’s accounting year, but no later than the deadline noted in the chart below.
The Charitable Organization Registration / Renewal is available to file online. Certain financial information from the organization’s most recently completed accounting year is required; please have your financial records available for reference.
If you’re uncertain which accounting year to report or have other questions, please contact the Charities Program by phone at 800-332-4483.
