Free workshop for educators, including classroom teachers, librarians and curriculum administrators. 3 CLOCK HOURS available FREE of CHARGE. Work in a team to use primary sources from Washington State Archives collections along with selected secondary sources to develop a poster on the 1909 Spokane Free Speech Fight. Each team will receive a different package of research sources. After the posters are completed, each group will explain how their sources shaped the development of their posters. The use of research sources to develop an interpretive product supports Common Core State Language Arts Standards for Literacy in History/Social Studies. This hands-on experience can be applied directly to the development and assessment of student projects.
