Open Government Training

This joint session, presented by Washington State Archives and the Office of the Attorney General, is an overview of the rules and requirements of: the Public Records Act (chapter 42.56 RCW), Open Public Meetings (chapter 42.30 RCW) and Records Retention and Management (chapter 40.14 RCW), and covers best practices, tips and strategies. The first (morning) half of this session fulfills the requirements of the Open Government Trainings Act. The second (afternoon) half of this session is for those interested in advanced public records training.

This training will satisfy required training on the Public Records Act Chapter 42.56 RCW and the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 42.30 RCW.

This training will satisfy required records management and retention laws training under Chapter 40.14 RCW.

The afternoon sessions are largely designed for Public Records Officers, yet others are welcome to stay for the entire day.
