Charities, nonprofit fundraising workshop March 31 in Tumwater
Issued: March 12, 2014
OLYMPIA...The Secretary of State's Corporations and Charities Division is sponsoring a workshop on fundraising for charities and nonprofits in Tumwater on Monday, March 31.
The event will be held at the Department of Labor & Industries headquarters (7273 Linderson Way SW) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lunch provided.
“Rather than being a 'how-to' for fundraising events, this workshop will explore deeper into the responsibilities and ethics of fundraising for charitable and nonprofit organizations,” said Teresa Glidden, education coordinator for the Corporations and Charities Division. “It will help charities and nonprofits approach their fundraising efforts the right way.”
The featured speaker at the workshop is Dr. Stuart Grover, chair emeritus of Collins Group and chair of the Secretary of State's Charity Advisory Council, who will share more than 30 years of experience as a fundraising consultant.
There is a $10 per-person lunch charge to help defray the costs of the facility and catering. Registrants can pay online when they register by credit or debit card. Registration is limited and available online at www.sos.wa.gov/charities/training.
