Breakdown of the proposed cuts to the Washington State Library

The Washington State Library faces severe cuts proposed by both the Governor and the Senate. The reductions would dramatically impact the Library’s services. Due to the complexity of the Library’s budget, we’ve attached two charts you may find useful. The first demonstrates cuts that occurred during the 2001 – 2003 biennium. The second chart shows proposed cuts by the Governor and the Senate in red. The Governor’s proposal would take place during the 2003 -2005 biennium. The Senate proposal would accelerate the cuts to May of 2003. Despite the timing difference, the proposals are so similar we have included them in the same chart.
