Ask-WA: Ref22

Ref22 is a monthly webinar dedicated to the continuing education of reference and virtual reference librarians. Covering such topics as screencasting, search techniques, and much more, Ref22 allows attendees to share their skills and successes, and to learn about new topics.
Ref22 webinars take place live on the second Tuesday of most months (see below for a schedule of upcoming sessions). Presentations run for about 40 minutes, and time is provided for attendees to ask questions and discuss any interesting topics that are presented. The sessions are archived so that those unable to attend the live webinar may watch a recorded version at their convenience.
For questions about Ref22, or if you have a subject you'd like to present on (or see presented), contact the Ask-WA Coordinator at 360-570-5587 or matthew.roach@sos.wa.gov.

Upcoming Session
October 12 2010 (9:00 - 10:00 a.m. PDT): Mastering the Reference Interview
The October edition of Ref22 is proud to present, "Mastering the Reference Interview."
Whatever our official status, our users think of us all simply as "the librarian." Join us during October's Ref22 to discuss how library staff of all levels can engage (and sometimes disengage) our users to best meet their information needs.
Sno-Isle Libraries offers this training quarterly to all staff that work at a public information or customer service desk. The training is a mix of "Reference 101" (for paraprofessionals) and "Reference Refresher" (for librarians).
With a focus on working as a team, this training reminds us of our best practices in how to be a community doorway to reading, resources, and lifelong learning.
Archived sessions are now available on their own page: Ref22 Archives.
