This year the Mock Election offers both a short ballot and a long ballot. The short ballot, recommended for younger students, asks students to decide on Initiative 1240 concerning charter schools, President and Governor. The long ballot adds Initiative 502 concerning marijuana and Referendum 74 concerning same-sex marriage. These issues are more complex and can be controversial; therefore, we recommend the long ballot for older students.
